Di@L-log
Di@L-log is a support system for our patients. It was designed and build by us and by colleagues at the University of Ulster. It is a system which allows you to record your weight, blood sugar and blood pressure readings on-line or by using your home or mobile phone. When you enter your measurements …usually on a weekly basis…. you get feedback on how well you are doing and we can also see your results and can then contact you if things are not going well.
Want to give it a go? Why not test it out first?
If so use our dummy patient – known as Roy - to try the system out. Ring 08453991529 and when prompted to enter your PIN use 9993. You can record your weight, blood sugar and blood pressure measurements using your own voice or by using the telephone or mobile phone keypad. If using your voice to enter readings then speak as clearly as you can and make sure there is not a lot of background noise. Once you enter all your measurements listen out for an example of the sort of feedback you might get.
If this way of recording your measurements does not appeal to you then why not just use your home computer and internet connection to put your readings in on-line. Go to http://193.61.148.159/dial and enter 9993 as your Patient ID and the word ‘mellitus’ as the PassCode. Then hover over Readings, click on Record Reading and you will be able to add some dummy readings and see how the system works.
If you like either of these ways of recording your weight, blood sugar and blood pressure measurements and sharing your information with your diabetes team then contact us (link here to On-line clinic page so that patients can send through request to get started ) and we will get you set up with your very own log-in details and get you started. Remember that this service is only for patients attending hospital clinics at the Ards, Bangor or Ulster Hospitals.
