Diabetes Specialist Nurse–led Clinics
The Diabetes Specialist Nurses run their own clinics and these are held at various times and at various locations.
You may see a Diabetes Specialist Nurse at one of these clinics very soon after you have been referred by your GP. You may also be referred to a nurse-led clinic after an appointment at one of the Consultant-led clinics.
On arrival make yourself known to one of the Diabetes Specialist Nurses. Your weight and blood pressure may then be measured and you will sometimes have a blood sample taken.
Please also bring a list of all the medication that you are currently taking along with any records of your blood sugar or blood pressure levels. This is very important.
